Rupert Murdoch’s divorce from Anna Murdoch is reportedly the most expensive divorce in history, costing a staggering $1.7 billion (£1.2 billion).

Mr Murdoch went on to marry one of his employees, Wendi Deng, 17 days after the divorce was finalised. Other huge divorce settlements include Saudi businessman and former arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi’s $874 million (£604 million) payout to his ex-wife Sorayan and American mobile phone tycoon Craig McCaw’s divorce from his wife Wendy, which cost him an estimated $460 million (£318 million).

Elin Nordegren, Tiger Woods wife got $750M, custody of kids in exchange for silence in Tiger Woods divorce. Tiger Woods is banned from letting girlfriends near his kids in a divorce deal netting his ex a record $750 million settlement, The Sun newspaper reported in June.

The heiress at the centre of a landmark £100million divorce battle has accused her ex-husband of infidelity and ‘greed’. Multi-millionaire Katrin Radmacher, 41, said her former husband had only married her for money, and admitted she had been blinded by love.

Miss Radmacher, one of Europe’s wealthiest women, made legal history last month when the Supreme Court ruled her prenuptial contract should be binding.

Nicolas Granatino, 39, had tried to win £9.2million from her in the divorce courts, despite signing a marriage agreement that he would make no financial claim if their relationship failed.
